- Live-out overtime begins after 40 hours/week.
- Live-in overtime begins after exempt under the federal default.
- Daily overtime begins after 8 hours/day.
- Overtime multiplier: 1.5x.
Nevada requires 1.5x after 8 hours in a day for workers earning less than 1.5x minimum wage, or after 40 hours weekly.
Payroll taxes in Nevada
Federal (applies everywhere): Social Security 6.2% and Medicare 1.45% from both employer and employee, plus FUTA at 0.6% on the first $7,000 (employer only).
Nevada state taxes:
- State unemployment (SUTA, employer): 2.90% on the first $41,800 of wages.
- State income tax: None.
Workers' compensation in Nevada
Required for any household employee earning $300+ per quarter.
